Students in the ceramics program receive individualized instruction in both wheel thrown and hand-built ceramic construction in a well equipped 4,000 square foot studio.

This studio includes the following:

• Three large electric kilns (including a new 16.5 cubic foot oval)
• Two smaller electric kilns
• A large Brent slab roller
• Two extruders
• Three pugmills
• A new Soldner mixer
• A separate well equipped glaze room
• A two station spray booth
• A materials and clay mixing/storage room
• A damp room
• A large greenware/bisqueware storage room
• 18 electric wheels
• One wheelchair assessable wheel

The curriculum also offers experiences in oxidation, reduction, wood, raku, and soda firing processes.  

A 5,000 square foot covered kiln yard is furnished with the following:
• Two new 40 cubic foot Geil car kilns
• We are building a new wood kiln the spring semester 2010
• Two older updraft kilns
• A 30 cubic foot downdraft soda kiln
• A new 3 cubic foot test kiln
• Two raku kilns
