The studio features state-of-the-art editing equipment and software.  There are two separate AVID editing suites, one with AVID Adrenaline editing software and the other featuring AVID Xpress.  Students are able to produce documentaries, Public Service Announcements, promotional videos, music videos, news packages and other creative work.

In addition, students use newsroom quality software to prepare scripts and provide locaters and information for the student-produced news show, “Campus Watch."

“Campus Watch” is an award-winning newscast that has earned countless honors at the annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association competition.  Students who minor in Broadcasting will have the opportunity to spend two semesters producing “Campus Watch."  Non-broadcast minors can also work on the show, if they so desire.

Students have the opportunity to receive professional training with adequate time allowance and exceptional facilities while attending MSU.  The coursework prepares MSU Mass Communication majors to enter the workforce immediately.  Previous students have gone on to be reporters, news directors, producers and associate producers, documentary filmmakers, freelance photojournalists and various other professionals in the video industry.
