Music Scholarships
Scholarships in the Music Department are of two
types: competitive music scholarships for music majors that require an audition
(called Music Scholarships), and non-competitive participation awards for
members of the bands (called Band Scholarships). The music scholarship has
specific criteria that must be met to receive the award and ongoing oversight to
maintain the award. Band scholarships are smaller and are awarded to all
students who participate in the bands to help offset the costs and time
obligations of membership in the bands. The music scholarship requires a formal
application (included below), interview, and audition before members of the
music faculty. Upon successful completion of the audition and interview, the
music faculty member will make a recommendation to the entire music faculty
regarding a scholarship amount. As funds permit, the music scholarship
coordinator will send a letter to the recipient indicating the amount of the
scholarship offer.
